Terms of Use

Last updated October 6, 2026

These terms apply to Jar, the iPhone app, and to its page at rflx.app/jar. Jar is published by rflx.app (“we” or “us”). Contact us at rflx.app@gmail.com. By using Jar, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

Using Jar

Jar is a one-note app: you write lines, add photos and short recordings, drop them into a glass jar, and seal full jars onto a shelf. It requires an iPhone with iOS 26 or later. How it looks and moves depends on your device, its settings, and its storage.

Jar is licensed, not sold. Subject to these terms and Apple’s Usage Rules, you may install and use it on iPhones you own or control. The app, its code, artwork, sounds, and branding belong to us or our licensors. Do not redistribute the app, bypass its protections, or use it unlawfully. Restrictions on copying or reverse engineering apply only as far as the law and applicable open-source licenses allow.

Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms supplement it; where they conflict on something it governs, Apple’s agreement controls.

Your content

What you write, photograph, and record in Jar stays yours. You are responsible for it: have permission before you photograph or record other people, and respect their privacy, copyright, and other rights, especially in anything you give away.

Jar keeps your jars only on your iPhone. It is not a backup or sync service. Lines, photos, and recordings can be lost if you delete the app, lose or reset your phone, or restore it without a backup. Pouring out a jar can be undone only right after; a deleted jar cannot be brought back. Keep your own copies of anything you can’t lose.

Giving jars away

A gift moves a jar rather than copying it: once it’s given, it leaves your shelf.

Once a gift is opened or shared as a file, we cannot return it to you or remove it from the receiver’s shelf. Giving by link requires iCloud and a network connection, and we cannot promise every gift arrives. Only give what you have the right to share, and don’t use gifts to send anything unlawful, harassing, or that someone hasn’t agreed to receive.

A time capsule stays locked until its date for whoever holds it. When you receive a jar, its lines, photos, and recordings remain the work of the person who made them.

Beta versions

If you use a TestFlight beta of Jar, it is unfinished and may have bugs, lose data, or change in ways that affect your jars. Apple’s TestFlight terms and build expiration rules apply. We may update, limit, or end a beta at any time. Feedback is welcome by email or through TestFlight; you allow us to use your suggestions to improve Jar without any obligation to you, and this gives us no rights in your content.

Privacy and other services

Our Privacy Policy explains how Jar stores your jars, what gifts contain, and what usage statistics and crash reports it sends. Apple (including iCloud and TestFlight), Google Firebase, and the services you use to send gifts operate under their own terms. You are responsible for any connectivity or data charges.

Availability and responsibility

We work to keep Jar reliable, but we cannot promise it will always work, run on every device, or never lose data. To the extent permitted by law, Jar is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties beyond those the law requires, and we are not liable for lost content or indirect damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits your mandatory consumer rights.

You may stop using Jar at any time. We may change or discontinue features. If these terms change materially, we will update this page and give notice where required; changes do not take away rights you already have.
